Hi. I’m Amy Vernon. I do stuff on the internet.
I’m (originally from, and now) based in the NYC metro area and have lived in all four time zones in the Lower 48 of the United States because Arizona doesn’t do Daylight Savings Time.
I spent 20 years as a professional newspaper journalist. Well, I tried to be professional. That went to hell in 2008.
Since then, I’ve done a lot of different things:
Audience Development
I took on a web property with declining traffic heavily dependent on Facebook and turned it into a growing concern with a highly diversified sources of traffic. In six months.
Community Engagement
At a blockchain cybersecurity startup, I took an unruly crowd of token holders and built a beta testing group for our first product. They helped us find bugs and suggested features for future iterations. And they got to see that even if there wasn’t immediate financial reward, their investment had a purpose.
Product Development
I excel at translating from user to engineering and back again. I understand what users want and need and how to work with product and engineering to prioritize those needs and wants. Then, I help the users understand the priorities. Everyone wins!
