Thanks for stopping by, Alxzndro.

Well, as I said, I have made a lot of rice in my life, and having lived in South Florida and Arizona, have been exposed to a lot of different Latin cultures, all of whom make a lot of rice. And I cannot recall a single family that used a rice cooker, my husband's Colombian family included. I could still be wrong, and there are plenty of Latin families who use 'em, but I just haven't met them.

Not knowing how much rice cookers are used in Asian cultures doesn't make me "ignorant of other cultures," however. And if that did, then that would make all the people who called me ignorant and stupid just as ignorant and stupid for thinking that anyone who made a lot of rice anywhere else in the world must use rice cookers a lot. Note that every single person who cited rice cookers was speaking about their use in Asian cultures here and abroad.

I've already told some friends I stand corrected, but I still don't like to use them. And I have.

As for not putting up a fight, well, the subject just wasn't worth it to get into a spitting match with people. People spoke their piece, and some even did so respectfully. They were entitled to their opinions. I had already expressed my feelings, so to express them again would have been defensive and worthless.

Wow, I just read your column about rice cookers. If you really made a lot of rice in your lifetime, you should have known about rice cookers. It shows how ignorant you are about other cultures. Though you speak of preference, you make yourself look unintelligent compared to all of the WalletPop readers. You can tell you're wrong anyways, because you can't even put up a fight, hahahaa.
